ED7999 data configuration tool runs on the Windows operating system and is connected to the ED8000 or WT8002 via Bluetooth. The Bluetooth based virtual serial port interacts with the embedded software in the ED8000 or WT8002 reader/writer, and reads the ID number and other information of the electronic marker through the ED8000 or WT8002. It can edit and write information other than Unit Code and ID into the memory of the electronic marker, and update the cached configuration data in the ED8000 or WT8002.
Select the device to be connected through the Bluetooth selection button "Select Bluetooth (T)". The default Bluetooth name for a typical locator is "ED8000", the default Bluetooth name for a reader/writer is "WT8002", and the pairing code is set to the default value of "1234".
After a successful Bluetooth connection, click the "Connect (C)" button to establish a data communication connection. Once successful, the detector or reader can be used for data reading, writing, or configuration.
In theory, the ED7999 can be adapted to the built-in Bluetooth function or external USB Bluetooth module of all commonly used computers on the market. Currently, laptops with built-in Bluetooth modules that have passed testing include Lenovo ThinkPad T490S and Huawei MateBook D14; Tested USB Bluetooth modules: 5.1 Bluetooth USB adapter, 5.3 Bluetooth USB adapter, 5.4 Bluetooth USB adapter. Whether other built-in Bluetooth functions or external USB Bluetooth adapters can be used needs to be tested by the user themselves.
Press the "Read Marker" button to read the information of the marker, including 5 types of information: Unit Code, ID, Pick Number, Object Type, and Object Specification,.
Other content except Unit Code and ID can be entered or modified. The modification rules are as follows: Object Type can only enter the serial number or select content from the drop-down list, and cannot directly enter content; Object Specification can only input serial numbers or drop-down lists to select content, and cannot directly input content.
Add, delete, modify, or sort the content of Object Type and Object Specification;
The maximum number of records for Object Type is 256, and the serial number is automatically generated by the system. The starting SN is 1, which cannot be repeated or modified, but the display or sending order of the records can be adjusted through the up and down buttons on the right;
Each Object Type can correspond to up to 256 Object Specifications. When the mouse clicks on a certain Object Type record in the left scrolling window, the right scrolling window switches to display the list of Object Specification records corresponding to that Object Type record, with the starting record SN being 1;
Double click a record in the scrolling window with the mouse, and an editing window will pop up to modify the content of this record;
Move the mouse arrow to a certain record in the scrolling window, right-click to pop up the selection menu "Modify, Add, Delete", and perform the corresponding operation. After deleting the record, the serial number will be reordered;
The maximum length for both Object Type and Object Specification is 17 English/Russian letters or numbers;
The configuration results will be automatically saved in the local database with the file name "data. mdb", which can be copied and used on other computers;
Press the "Synchronize (T)" button to synchronize the configuration information to WT8002 or ED8000;
